Just a quick post-xmas, pre-new year note to say thank you to everyone who made the past year so much fun. We met so many fans, made a lot of new friends at our shows, and enjoyed all the great talent and impromptu happenings at open mic nights. The show we played at the Wingfield Amphitheater was definitely a high point! So, to everyone who has made 2002 so notable, we'd like to say HAPPY HOLIDAYS and we'll see you in 2003!

Work continues on the first full length Burning Peace album. Due to the great response we've received from our fans (THANK YOU!) we're trying to capture our "live sound" as much as possible, using just enough studio polish to make it a nice, clean sounding disc that everyone can enjoy. We're hoping to have this project finished in time for a release party in Spring 2003.

The Musician's Showcase last Friday (12/13) was probably the best attended ever done at Walden's. Opener Dave Bentel did a great job warming up the crowd, aided by Mrs. Bentel and André Walton on flute. We followed with a solid set of original music that went over well with the mostly college-age crowd. And what a crowd! It was SRO in and outside the house; Jeff counted at least 130 heads, perhaps more. After our set Whiskey Trip played an hour of cover & original tunes that really got the joint jumpin'. During their set the folks from Lobster Pound (located behind Walden's) brought over some free mussels, scallops, and seaofood salad for everyone to enjoy. Apparently the new Reno mayor and city council were having a meeting next door and weren't able to finish all that tasty seafood. If you missed this show, man oh man did you miss out! :)

The open mic on Saturday (12/7) was really good this week. Lots of new performers on stage, lots of original music, and lots of new faces in the audience. The place was packed! We didn't wrap it up until nearly 11:00pm, and the way the crowd was we could have kept it going until at least midnight. If we can get the City of Reno to agree, it looks like we'll need to add at least another hour or two to open mic night! Many thanks to Jeff Wilson for being such a great host to musicians and audience alike.

Thanks to those who came out to our first show at Record Street Café on Friday (12/6). We had a good time, played for some new people, enjoyed some good food, and performed about 90 minutes of music. Looking forward to next time!

Overall, last night's open mic (11/30) went pretty well. We played two different slots of three songs each, and although I botched words, chords, etc., we STILL sounded good! Met some new folks and handed out the new BP stickers. Looks like we might have some new faces at the upcoming Record St. and Walden's shows. Finally met Monique & Clayton Stanfield of "All About Me"; hoping to play a showcase with them in January or February.
